frequently asked questions?
Do you have 1:1 tuition classes / days?
Not something I have considered really, I wouldn’t want my hobby to become something I had to do or commit to, I think at present anyway I want to keep it as something I enjoy but possibly something to consider
Which of the Genres do you like the best?
I really have no particular preference, I love the still of night under the stars as much as the busy street or the roar of the super bikes at the race track each presents its own challenges and satisfaction
your super wide angle low POV street photography is unusual but thrilling, I guess the people don’t know till its all over? How do you do that?
Most of these were taken with a Sony A7 riii using a Canon 8mm-15mm fisheye lens. You are correct the images are taken candidly on silent shutter, I crouch down an take a burst, I am very close maybe 30 -40 cm and have the lens pointed up? I the de-fish these in lightroom with lens correction.
What gear did you use to take the Aurora on this page? … It’s Awesome !
The camera was a Sony Alpha A7 sii with the sigma 14mm f1.4, the lens was open at f1.4 and the shutter was 10 seconds, It was a perfect night the aroma was clearly visible to the naked eye.
I want to do street photography but don’t want to get into confrontation with people?
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee you won’t get confronted, although I have only had one nasty experience which was threatening and became close to violence, however in all the years and the tens of thousands of pics I’ve only had the odd person ask me to delete, which isn’t a problem as the camera writes to both cards, but when I delete it only deletes from one of them. If you're shy it might be best to start in busy tourist cities and towns where you will blend in with a camera, the first few frames will be difficult but it does get easier. Don’t worry about getting poor pics everybody does to begin with.
